Computer Crime Investigation - This is a brief paper I wrote for the Criminal Justice department at the University of North Texas, where I guest lecture from time to time on computer crime.  It is a "how to" list for police officers and computer crime investigators, but it also comes in handy for the first officer on the scene as to what to do and what not to do.  I guest lecture at the University from time to time on computer crime and am trying to twist their arm to let me guest lecture on serial crime, too :)

If you're wondering, yes, I'm commissioned as a Peace Officer in Texas.  I've held a Reserve license since 1983, passed the Texas Peace Officer test in 1997, and was appointed in 1999.  I carry a full commission, and am licensed to carry a weapon and make arrests anywhere in the state, regardless of whether or not I am on duty.  My ultimate goal is to do computer crime and homicide investigation, although I have this liking for traffic law enforcement :)

Software Risk Assessment - Here's a paper I wrote a few years back on risk assessment in software development projects.  It uses a simple methodology to get a rough idea on whether or not your software project is going to crash and burn.
